"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Even the obvious ones don't get deleted. The site didn't suddenly get to 300k+ deviations overnight. It built up over a period of time, during which little action was taken against infringements. If it had been, there wouldn't be so many now as people would know that sort of thing isn't acceptable to the admins.
They only have themselves to blame for the situation they're in now, and it's pathetic seeing them try to hide from the valid criticism...
"There're hundreds ( thousands? ) of images on the site that violate copyright laws, so there's obviously more to it than you're telling everyone.
I won't hold my breath waiting for you to delete the others. Or listen to the community, not just the ones who shout the loudest..."
hundreds of images are being deleted.. how do i know? cause i went through and reported policy violations for about 50 the other day - and then got sent a note that each was found to be a violation and was deleted (and i looked and they were).
if you started a community site.. and it was small and good, you'd probably go through and try to make sure everything is kosher and not rips or copyright infringements.. but when your community gets a huge growth spurt and suddenly you're up to 300k+ deviations - i'd like to see YOU go through and try to find them. its a pain in the ass trying to figure out which images are inifringements and which aren't - that is, beyond the obvious postings of celebrity images..
